Link Building - What you need to know!
I have been doing this online thing since 2006.
I started out by simply writing a BLOG centered around my mortgage business and since then I have branched out to be involved in several different niches across many different industries.
One thing I learned was that I didn't want all my eggs in my mortgage basket and I am thankful I didn't. With my mortgage BLOG as my learning tool I have come a long way in the past few years.
One thing that I didn't learn right away was everything I needed to know about link building.
I know Link Building is boring! It's tedious and seems to suck away your time day in and day out.
Here are a few basics that really helped springboard my results in the early going:
1. Keep it simple - I did nothing more then link to my my site from my site using anchor text!
2. Don't get overwhelmed - I looked for help from people who knew what they were doing and just followed what they did.
3. Use Web 2.0 - If you don't know this you should. Simply create a supporting blog using blogger, wordpress, wetpaint and many others.
If you stick to the basics you really can get the most out your link building activities.
Now before I close this out it is important to mention that the keywords you choose will determine your level of success. Pay attention to your competition as they will determine your success for any given keyword.

Building a List Using Video
The information I am sharing with you isn't a sales pitch, I don't want you to buy anything and most importantly I want you to learn as much as possible so ask questions and leave comments.
For a while now I have been marketing different products and services online. I have tried almost everything to get traffic to sites and get my offers recognized. (article marketing, social media, link bait and much more)
I was introduced to video marketing when I was reading a BLOG several years ago and in that Post it simply said, "use video to increase conversion 600%."
Well I thought that was simple enough.
I went out the next week and bought my Flip Camera and already having a MACBook I had a huge head start. I won't go into details now but just know, easy camera and Imovie software to me equals a home run.
Having the videos shot was only the first step for me. I wanted to get people to watch them without having to resort to scams, pranks or tricks.
I did my homework and about 18 months ago I submitted my first video using a tool called Traffic Geyser.
The success that followed was a direct result of the tool, Traffic Geyser, and the formula it takes to get an online video campaign right.
Let me show you a Case Study of one of my first campaigns.
This campaign was for a offline business.
It was a vocational school in Sacramento that I wanted to do business with but I had no "real proof" that this stuff worked or more importantly that "I" could make it work. Well that's not entirely true but I had no proof outside of my personal sites for my other business I was running.
I reached out to someone I knew who had a much better understanding of the vocational school industry and put together the beginning of a "10x10x4 program" which is a program that is a staple to the Traffic Geyser tool.
After spending a few days in front of the camera getting the content right, my friend finally hit the highlights we needed to hit in order to get the conversions we were looking for.
He came over on the last day and sat in my backyard while we finished the video you see below.
You can also see that the video we shot is several months old but it only took 24 hours to rank in the top ten for that video and has remained there for quite some time since.
To top this off, I rank in the top 10 for more than 15 keywords (give or take), all from this video and one other.
NOTE - THIS IS A TERRIBLE VidEO but it proves one thing, quality video doesn't rank better than average to poor video.
This little project was a HUGE stepping stone for me.
It afforded me the opportunity to walk into the vocational school I was looking to do business with and say:
That little phrase, all though I say it in a more polite manner if at all, has made me an awful lot of money in the past six months.
"Hey Mr. Vocational School Owner. I just outranked your website in Google and was wondering if you would like to have that traffic back?"
I now have 5 offline businesses that depend on me to drive traffic to their sites where I have set them up with an email capture form to start capturing a database and have walked them through site design, A-B Split testing the pages and most importantly how to convert the traffic into paying customers.
Listbuilding is only as good as the amount of traffic you have coming into your offer or newsletter or anything else you have that is capturing an email database.
Recently Traffic Geyser has put out a new program teaching this exact same method and put together two case studies that cover offline businesses that use online video marketing to promote their business.
